How to Wear Statement Earrings

We all know that Phat Poly produces statement earrings but have you ever thought about the different ways you can style yours?

Lets begin with asking….what are statement earrings? It’s kind of in the name isn’t it?

They are earrings that pack a punch! When you walk down the street, they are the first thing someone passing by is going to notice. People cant help but look and admire them because they compliment your look and make you stand out. Sometimes, they even build your confidence and help you feel unstoppable. I really love how jewellery can do this.

There are different ways an earring can be a statement too – either by their bright colour(s), their unique shape and also their size.

Here are some tips on how to dress your statement earrings:

Contrasting/Complimentary Colours
If you have an outfit in mind, you can pick your favourite colour from the pattern and head on over to Color wheel - color theory and calculator | Canva Colors to discover the colour wheel! Did you know there is a science of how colours can compliment each other? For example, opposite colours on the wheel go very well together. There are many ways to use the colour wheel – Complementary, Monochromatic, Analogous etc. but lets not get bogged down with having to remember them! Just click the link above and match your earring colour with your outfit using one of these methods and you won’t go wrong!

Hair up or Hair down??
To get the most dramatic look and for your earrings to stand out as much as they can, wearing you hair up is the sure way to go. BUT being a statement earring, they will still be noticeable if you wear your hair down. My trick when wearing my hair down is to style one side of my hair so that it is either behind my ear or swept back revealing the earring.

Other accessories
I like to keep my other jewellery slightly minimal – unless it is a matching set like my rainbow earrings and necklace and then I go all in!! But for your earrings to stand out, choose a delicate necklace or no necklace at all for more impact!

Neutrals
If your outfit consists of neutral colours e.g. white/beige/black/cream go for a really bold colour for your earrings. The contrast will give you an effortless and trendy look!
